Attendance approached 20 squads for the events during the week.  The weather was very good for the shoot except for the first 100 on Saturday’s Singles Championship which faced strong East winds.   

Jim Hight, California, won the Championship singles with 199 while Upper Midwest Shooters were led by Dean Walker, Minnesota, winning the Vets title with a shoot off  win over Ron McConnell after breaking 197’s in the event.  Other ND and surrounding area shooters doing well were Bob and Annie Munson’s whose names appeared on the board a number of times winning category trophies.  Dean won other trophies during the week including two Vets doubles trophies with 98 and 99.  He is a 2012  Vet All American as are  Bob and Annie Munson. Leonard Raddohl, ND, and Brian Bebeau and Eugene Bert, Saskatchewan, were also class winners during the week. 

Shooters will be leaving Ben Avery for Casa Grande on Monday for its next shoot on the Winter Chain.  After that shoot then it is on to Tucson for the Preliminary Spring Grand and the Spring Grand.  ND shooters expected at the Spring Grand are:  Marlin Egeland, Leonard Raddohl, Dennis and Jan Klipfel, Dennis Powell, Bill Suda, Orrin Johnson, Don Ackerson, Chester Nelson, Tim Kaffar,  Louis Kuster, Greg Vaage, Carl Anderson,  Brian and JoMarie Knutson, Jason Folvag, Bob Reis, Jeff and Taylor Wagner, Bob and Annie Munson, Jason Folvag and Cody Tangsrud.

Leonard Raddohl, ND, Ron McConnell, Al, Dean Walker, Bob Scribner, and Richard Mccoy, Minnesota. Ron McConnell and Dean Walker tied for vets in the Championship Singles with 197's with Dean Winning the Shoot off. Dean also won two Vets Doubles Trophies during the week with 98 and 99. Through the singles event he led in HOA. He was named to 2012 All American Vets Team.

Kerrie-Jayne "KJ" Avon and Robert "Chainsaw" Mongian both worked for the Shoot as they done many times before in recent years.

Bob Scribner and his dog Penny recently joined the Winter Chain. Bob and has wife Laurel live in Minnesota

Eli Cone, Ohio, standing and Bob Estabrook, Nebraska, on the right are sharing stories of over 40 years on the winter Chain with Tony De Simone. Bob stated shooting the chain with his wife Carol 48 years ago while Eli has shot the chain for 40 years. Many of those were with his late ATA Hall of Fame wife, Helen, a many times women's All American.

Joe Miller, NE, Jim Grider, AZ, Paul Doetsch, AZ;, Tom Burns, NE, Bob Barker, SD, Lyle Hall, Iowa, and Chuck Manning, SD. Bob Barker  let the  group in first days Singles with a 99. Lyle Hall followed with a 98. Jim Grider manages the Score Board at Ben Avery Shoots, Paul Doetsch is the ATA Shoot Manager at the Ben Avery Shooting Complex. Both Jim and Paul are members of the Arizona Trapshooting Association Hall of Fame and both hold a number of  AZ ATA Titles.
