Nice warm Arizona winter weather greeted shooters on
Wednesday January 11 to the Ben Avery Clay Target Center
North of Phoenix with good weather for the most part of
the week through Sunday. Over 20 squads shot the
Singles on Saturday with 4 199’s tying. Shooters agreed
to declare themselves as co-champions and then accepted
Category and Class titles. During the week Chester
Nelson won first days D with a 95 and lost on a flip
with Leonard Raddohl breaking a 181 tied on Saturday’s
singles. Chester Nelson and Leonard Raddohl were the
only ND shooters at the shoot. Other North Dakotan’s
I’ve seen or have heard they are on the chain are Orrin
Johnson, Marlin Egeland, Carl Anderson, Don Ackerson and
Jim Harchenko. Gerald Wendel is expected in town next
week although because of recent major surgery he will be
doing more visiting than shooting this winter.
Other
ND shooters expected to join the Winter Chain at least
for the Spring Grand are Dennis Powell, Tim Kaffar,
Jason Folvag, Jeff Wagner, Bill Suda, Greg Vaage, Brian
and JoMarie Knutson, Dennis and Jan Klipfel, Bob Reis
and Cody Tangsrud.
This
week the chain travels to Casa Grande then the next week
it is the PIN shoot in Tucson.
